NoteWebhooks require technical comfort with URLs and JSON. If you prefer a no-code option, use the Zapier or Make integrations instead.
Webhooks let MONDAi send data to external systems the moment an event occurs, or receive data from external systems to trigger actions inside MONDAi. They are the lowest-latency integration method available and work with any platform that supports HTTP requests.
Steps

Outbound webhook: add to a workflow
In the workflow builder, add a Webhook action. Enter the destination URL — this is the endpoint of the external system that should receive the data.

Configure the payload
Set the data format (typically JSON) and map the MONDAi fields you want to include: contact name, email, tags, custom fields, etc.

Test the outbound webhook
Use a tool like webhook.site to capture test requests. Trigger the workflow and inspect the incoming payload to confirm the data structure is correct.

Inbound webhook: get your MONDAi endpoint
For receiving data into MONDAi, go to Settings → Integrations → Webhooks. Copy your inbound webhook URL.

Send data to MONDAi from an external system
Configure the external system to POST a JSON payload to your MONDAi webhook URL. Include the contact email as the minimum required field for MONDAi to create or update a contact record.
Common Mistakes
- No error handling in the external system. If MONDAi returns an error, the sending system should log it rather than silently fail.
- Missing the email field in inbound payloads. MONDAi requires email to identify or create a contact. Payloads without email will fail.
- Not verifying with webhook.site first. Always capture a test request before pointing a live system at your endpoint.
