Before You StartYour Instagram account must be an Instagram Business or Creator account connected to your Facebook Business Page. Complete the Facebook Messenger integration first.
Steps

Confirm Facebook integration is active
Go to Settings → Integrations → Facebook and confirm your Page is connected. Instagram DMs require the Facebook integration to work.

Connect your Instagram Business account
In the Facebook integration settings, find the Instagram section. Click Connect Instagram and select the account linked to your connected Facebook Page.

Enable Instagram DMs
Toggle on Instagram Direct Messages. New DMs will now route into your MONDAi Conversations inbox.

Test the connection
Send a DM to your Instagram account from a separate account. It should appear in Conversations within seconds. Reply from MONDAi and verify the reply arrives in Instagram.
Common Mistakes
- Using a personal Instagram account. Personal profiles cannot be connected. Switch to a Business or Creator account in your Instagram settings.
- Trying to connect without the Facebook Page linked first. Instagram DMs in MONDAi require the Facebook Business Manager connection.
- Expecting all story reply DMs to always sync. Standard DMs work reliably. Story reply behaviour may vary depending on Meta's current API permissions.
