A quiz funnel does two things: it qualifies your audience into segments that receive different messages, and it creates an interactive experience that increases engagement compared to a standard opt-in.

Steps

Define your segments first
Before building anything, define 2–4 outcome segments. Example for a business coach: Beginner (0–2 years), Established (2–5 years), Scaling (5+ years). Each segment will receive different messaging.

Build a multi-step form
Go to Sites → Forms. Create a form with 4–7 questions. Use radio buttons for most questions (single-select makes scoring simpler). Include an email field at the start or end to capture the lead.

Set up scoring or tag-based segmentation
Assign each answer to a segment via tags. Use a workflow triggered on form submission with If/Else branches based on which answer they selected.

Create conditional automation branches
In Automation → Workflows, set a trigger on form submission and add If/Else branches. Each branch sends the respondent down a different path: different email, different redirect URL, different tag.

Build your results pages
Create a separate funnel page for each segment outcome. The results page should: name the segment they fall into, validate their situation, and offer the most relevant next step.

Test all paths
Complete the quiz representing each segment. Verify each outcome receives the correct results page, tags, and follow-up email.

Common Mistakes

  • Too many questions. Quiz completion rates drop sharply above 8 questions. 4–6 is the sweet spot.
  • Results that all lead to the same offer. If every quiz outcome sends people to the same page, the segmentation adds no value.
  • Email capture at the end only. Placing the email field after 6 questions risks losing the lead if they abandon partway through.
