NoteLead scoring is most useful when you have consistent inbound lead flow. If you have under 100 contacts, you probably do not need it yet.
Not all leads are equal. Someone who has opened five emails, visited your sales page three times, and filled in your application form is a different priority than someone who subscribed once and never opened anything. Lead scoring assigns points automatically so your hottest prospects rise to the top.

Navigate to Lead Scoring
Go to Settings → Lead Scoring.

Define scoring criteria
Add scoring rules for behaviours that indicate buying intent. Common rules:
- Email opened: +2 points
- Email link clicked: +5 points
- Form submitted: +10 points
- Sales page visited: +8 points
- Booking page visited: +15 points
- Unsubscribed: -20 points

Set score decay
Enable score decay to gradually reduce scores for inactive contacts. A 30-day decay prevents old engagements from making a contact look hotter than they are.

Set threshold actions
Define what happens when a contact reaches a specific score. Example: when score reaches 50, add the tag Hot Lead and notify your sales team. This turns score into action automatically.

Monitor and adjust
After two weeks, review score distribution. If almost everyone has a high score, thresholds are too low. Calibrate based on real contact behaviour.
Common Mistakes
- Same point value for all actions. A page view and a booking page visit represent very different intent levels. Weight actions according to how clearly they signal buying readiness.
- No threshold action set. A score on its own is just a number. The value comes from what happens when the score is reached.
- Over-engineering before you have data. Start simple. A handful of meaningful rules produces better results than an elaborate 20-rule model built on assumptions.
