Your CRM is the living record of every relationship in your business — leads, current clients, past clients, collaborators. Every form submission, purchase, and automation interaction updates the same contact record automatically.
Steps

Navigate to Contacts
Click Contacts in the left navigation. You will see your full contact list with search, filter, and sort options at the top.

Add a new contact
Click Add Contact in the top right. A slide-over panel appears with all contact fields.

Fill in the contact profile
At minimum: First name, Last name, Email address. Additional fields: phone, address, company, website. Custom fields you have created appear below the standard fields.

Add tags
In the Tags field, type and add relevant tags. Examples: Lead, Hot Prospect, Program Name, Past Client.

Set a pipeline stage
If this contact belongs in a sales pipeline, assign the opportunity stage here.

Save the contact
Click Save. The contact record is now live in your CRM. Open it at any time to view their activity timeline, add notes, send messages, or update their information.
Common Mistakes
- Leaving the email field blank. Email is the primary identifier for automations, campaigns, and portal access. A contact without email cannot be enrolled in sequences or sent campaigns.
- Not adding tags at point of creation. Tags added later are often forgotten. Add relevant tags when creating the contact so they are correctly segmented from day one.
- Creating duplicates. Use the search function before adding a contact manually to check if they already exist.
