RequirementsYou need a WhatsApp Business Account connected to a Meta Business Manager. A personal WhatsApp account cannot be connected. This integration uses the WhatsApp Business API — different from the standard WhatsApp Business app.
Before You Start
WhatsApp Business API integration requires: a verified Meta Business Manager account, a WhatsApp Business number (cannot be in use on the WhatsApp Business app simultaneously), and a phone number that can receive a verification code. Dedicate a number to the API — you cannot use it on both the app and the API at the same time.
Steps

Navigate to WhatsApp integration
Go to Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp. Click Connect WhatsApp.

Connect your Meta Business Manager
You will be redirected to Meta to authorise your Business Manager account. Grant the required permissions for WhatsApp API access.

Select or create a WhatsApp Business number
Choose an existing WhatsApp Business number from your Meta account, or register a new one. Complete the phone number verification.

Set up your WhatsApp Business profile
Enter your business display name, description, and profile photo. This is what contacts see when they message you on WhatsApp.

Enable in conversations
Once connected, WhatsApp messages from contacts will appear in your Conversations inbox alongside SMS and email. Replies sent from MONDAi deliver to WhatsApp.
Common Mistakes
- Using a number already active on the WhatsApp Business app. A number connected to the API cannot simultaneously run on the app. The app will be disconnected.
- Sending messages outside of the 24-hour window without a template. WhatsApp restricts outbound messages to the 24 hours after a contact last messaged you. Outside this window you need an approved Message Template.
- No opt-in from contacts. WhatsApp messaging requires explicit opt-in. Contacts must initiate conversation or have provided WhatsApp consent.
