A community without moderation becomes either a ghost town or a mess. Your job as the community host is to keep it safe, on-topic, and worth showing up to — with as light a hand as possible. Heavy-handed moderation creates self-consciousness. Too little creates drift. The goal is a space with a clear character that members understand intuitively.
Community moderation in MONDAi gives administrators direct control over posts, members, and settings. The admin permission structure follows GoHighLevel's membership community standards — practical controls that let you act quickly when something needs attention.
Proactive Moderation
- Post clear community guidelines before anyone else posts (pin them)
- Create a pinned welcome post that sets the tone
- Post consistently so members know the space is active
- Acknowledge and celebrate member contributions publicly
Reactive Moderation
- Remove posts that violate guidelines
- Warn or remove members who repeatedly disrupt the environment
- Close or lock threads that have become unproductive
How to Moderate Posts
Navigate to the post. Admins see a moderation menu — typically a three-dot icon. Options include: Delete/Remove (removes the post), Pin Post (keeps it at the top of the feed), Flag/Report (escalates for review).
How to Manage Members
Go to Memberships → Communities, open your community, and navigate to the Members section. From here you can: view all members, remove a member (does not affect their course access), or assign a moderator role.
What Community Guidelines Should Cover
- What the community is for and who it's for
- What kinds of posts are welcome
- What's not allowed: spam, unsolicited self-promotion, disrespectful language
- How violations are handled: first warning, then removal
Common Mistakes
- Launching without pinned guidelines — post them on day one, before any members arrive.
- Responding publicly to every negative situation — message members privately first.
- Ignoring quiet periods — even a brief check-in post keeps momentum.
- Removing members without warning for first-time minor issues.
